Due to the recent change in all of our purchasing habits brought on by the current situation, the haulage and parcel industry has seen the demand for their services increase to record levels.
This itself has created many challenges. Observing social distancing guidelines to government COVID-19 risk management guidelines is just one of these. This is particularly relevant at our service partners sortation centres at APC, TPN & UPN
This may result in delays within the operation that are beyond our control. It is worth stating that both our parcel and pallet network services have remained extremely strong despite all of these challenges.
Some of our competitors have stopped a next day offering, and are capping the volumes allowed into their networks. Here at DEL, NEP and WCL this is something we will not be doing.
We do however find ourselves in a position where we have to follow the guidance of most of our competitors that states that we will no longer be able to offer a credit for a next day or premium service delivery failure. All deliveries that have failed for whatever reason on the first day will be attempted in most cases the following day.
